Intercession prayer for the sick

For many years, we have had the great privilege of praying for people.

In the face of God's power – in His presence, many have experienced:

– a whole new life

– hope was revived

Through intercession, we have seen people set free from illness, inner pain, fear, and hopelessness
– and step into a new life characterised by hope, peace, joy and meaning in life.

What can you expect?”

In an afternoon of faith, hope and intercession for you.
If you are ill or otherwise having a bad time, this afternoon is for you.
The Bible says that Jesus met people with love and care and prayed for the sick, so they would recover.
The Bible states that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Therefore, he can also heal today.
Come and be encouraged, hear about healings and hear what the bible says about healing.
If you have a need, we have a prayer – a prayer that can change your situation.
Intercession for you is naturally voluntary and takes place in a safe and respectful atmosphere.
Whether you have a great or small need, or are simply curious, you are most welcome.
Participation is free.
“Jesus went about ……. and healed every disease and sickness.” (Matt 4.23)
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

What is intercession

Intercessory prayer means putting a wish or a need before God on behalf of another person.
It is an act where one shows care through faith and trust.
Intercession is about standing together and bringing a need before God in Jesus' name.
Many describe a deep peace when others place a hand on their shoulder and offer a single prayer. Intercession can be a turning point in a difficult situation. Many experience healing, strength, and life transformation through intercession.
Praying for the sick is not just a religious act, but allows God to intervene because we believe that God hears our prayers and can and will answer them.

How does intercessory prayer work

Situations of prayer can take place with or without the laying on of hands.
There are no magical powers in the hands. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that intervenes and creates change. Our hands are a point of contact – a point of contact of faith, to really say: "Hey Jesus, here we are – will you do what you have already promised in your word?".
Prayer can be for comfort, peace, healing, or new strength.
Some people feel warmth or peace in their body, while others experience clarity of mind or a feeling of burdens being lifted. But ultimately, it is always God's presence that
works – not human abilities or hands.
Prayer is therefore a meeting between human faith and God's love.
When we pray for the sick, we step into something bigger than ourselves and allow God space to act. And experience again shows that the importance of intercession can be profound, healing, and full of hope.

What does the Bible say about intercession for the sick?

For example, it says:
“The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well, and the Lord will raise them up.”
James 5:15
Or Jesus' words:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you shall find.”
Matthew 7:7
These verses highlight that intercession and prayer for the sick are part of the faith God himself invites us to.
Gospel means: The good news, so intercession is to do as Jesus did – to bring the good news to people who seek Him. Hence the Healing Gospel – the healing gospel. Jesus came to bring the good news to everyone who comes to Him.

What can one be cured of

The Bible shows time and again that God desires to meet humankind's needs.
Healing can happen from the great and the small – for nothing is impossible with God.
Some seek intercession for cancer, others for back pain, slipped discs, racing thoughts
or depression. Some seek because they are seekers.
There are many testimonies of people who have experienced relief, solace or full healing after intercessory prayer.
